What is Soul: The Journey and Evolution

The nature and location of the soul have been an issue of great debate since time immemorial. Not only philosophers but “ordinary people” have also been confounded by questions like “What is the soul?”, “Where is my soul?”, “What role does the soul play in the cycle of life, death and rebirth?” and “Is my soul really  immortal ? ” In keeping with the nature of Truth to be multifaceted, the answers to these questions have also been varied.  Your Immortality The word, the soul, is often used inter-changeably with the word,  spirit , and is regarded as the immaterial essence that is deathless and timeless. The nature of the journey of the soul after death and whether there is a consciousness after death is questions that many of us ponder about when we think of the possibility of a life after death.  The existence of the soul is substantiated by the fact that every religion has a concept in support of the soul. This universality of philosophical views about...

In different parts of India, Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped on a regular basis in every household and also by businessmen and entrepreneurs for success. What are the secrets of prosperity? The secret to prosperity is  generosity and non-stealing .  “Generosity brings good luck” – Master Choa Kok Sui. Time and again Master has explained that generosity and non-stealing results in good karma.  He has said,  “Stealing generates poverty karma. When a person takes what does not belong to him, the  energy  goes down; the sizes of the chakras are reduced.”   Service and tithing should be practiced on a regular basis. Giving is connected with the  Heart Chakra   or Anahata Chakra. But giving is not enough; we must become receptive to let the divine blessings ...

Om Shanti Om

Om Shanti Om is the mantra of peace.  Om  is a sacred word that is recognized universally as a sacred sound. The mantra Om purifies our mind and soul and takes our incarnated soul closer to our higher soul. Shanti is the Sanskrit word for peace. The word may stand for calmness, rest or even bliss.  The mantra  Om Shanti Om  gives us a state of deeper relaxation. It brings a sense of calmness and spiritual well-being.  When we chant the entire  mantra , we say shanti three times. Master Choa Kok Sui has chanted the mantra as ‘Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om’. Chanting the word Shanti three times has a meaning too.  Shanti: Let the Peace Echo The first Shanti will free us from physical burdens. It filters negative thoughts related to our etheric body like disabilities, diseases and illnesses.  The second Shanti cleanses our mind and soul. We can shed negative thoughts like jealousy, hatred, anger, worries from our mind. This ta...

Om Mani Padme Hum

The mantra Om Mani Padme Hum is said to have wish fulfilling effect. This is mantra of Buddha Avalokiteshvara, also known as Buddha Kwan Yin. The chanting of this mantra brings down a huge amount of divine blessing and divine energy or  spiritual energy . It has a purifying and healing effect on not only the person chanting it but also on the people and sentient beings around.  What is the meaning of  “Om Mani Padme Hum ?”  Om  is the divine sound that elevates the level of consciousness. Mani means jewel. Padme means lotus flower, and Hum is the Tibetan affirmation like ‘So be it’ or ‘Amen’ Before we understand Mani or the jewel, we need to understand Padme or the Golden Lotus. What does the Golden Lotus signify? The crown chakra that is located at the top of the head is also known as the  Sahasrara Chakra . Once the crown chakra is sufficiently activated, the twelve golden petals open and turn upward like a g...

Mantra Om

The mantra Om (also written as Aum) has a  purifying  effect and helps our consciousness to shift to the higher level.  Why is it important to purify our  soul ? The human body and the mind are capable of projecting and receiving messages like electronic devices just like a wireless radio that captures signals. We can actually feel if the person sitting next to us is happy or angry or depressed. How does that happen? It is because we can pick up emotions from others. A happy and jolly person can make us happy. A gloomy person can make us sad. So imagine the number of people that we come across throughout the day. How many different sorts of good and bad emotions you may pick up the entire day? This explains why the great yogis stay away from populated area. This could be explained in a better way. When we mediate, we can notice a lot of thoughts and emotions coming to our mind. All these emotions or thoughts are not necessarily ours. We pick them up from the...

Mantra

Mantras are sacred sounds or words that contain divine energy or  spiritual energy . These incantations are special utterances as they are the embodiment of divine vibrations. Master Choa Kok Sui stresses on the importance and the innate power of various mantras.  The Power of Om "Om” , " Amin "  and  " Amen "   are all sacred universal sounds and are primitive in nature. It is interesting to note how similar they all are in sound and in their basic implications though they are used in different religions. These mantras seek to merge your individual consciousness with the Divine Consciousness. The  energy   generated through these chants help to disintegrate diseased and negative energies in the meditator as well as in the environment. The cleansing and energizing properties of the  Om mantra  and the sacred words of Amen and Amin help in de-stressing, elevating the consciousness and creating a spiritual environment that is cle...

TWIN HEART MEDITATION PHYSIOLOGICAL BENEFITS v   The following physiological changes and parameters were noted in scientific studies of the Meditation on Twin Hearts by Glenn J. Mendoza, M.D.: v   Measurable changes in the pattern of electrical activity through the brain by an electroencephalograph (EEG). Comparing EEG studies before and after meditation, there was a dramatic transition from beta waves to alpha waves and delta-theta waves in 14 meditators and non-meditators. v   An observable increase in brain synchrony (alpha-delta theta waves) between the two hemispheres of the brain after the Meditation on Twin Hearts. There was synchronization of brain waves initially between the same hemisphere and followed by synchrony between the frontal, middle and rear portions of the brain. v   A decrease in heart rate and respiratory rate after the Meditation on Twin Hearts. v   A positive relationship of skin conductance with the Meditation wa...

Jnana Yoga is Your Path to Divine Illumination

Jnana yoga  literally means  Yoga   of Knowledge and Understanding. This is the path which will lead us to achieve divine illumination or spiritual oneness with the higher  soul . Spiritual oneness means that our incarnated soul is achieving oneness with our higher soul and a certain oneness with  God  too. Jnana yoga helps us in understanding who we really are! Here we are not referring to not only intellectual knowledge but spiritual knowledge.  The time taken to achieve illumination may vary from one person to another. But why is this so? It is because one lifetime is not enough to achieve this type of enlightenment. Jnana yogis have taken many incarnations to achieve this state because one lifetime is very short.  How do we need to prepare ourselves for the Yoga of Knowledge and Understanding? We need to achieve physical purification along with inner  purification  or character building. If we do not have physical purificat...
