Twin Heart Meditation

TWIN HEART MEDITATION

PHYSIOLOGICAL BENEFITS

v  The following physiological changes and parameters were noted in scientific studies of the Meditation on Twin Hearts by Glenn J. Mendoza, M.D.:
v  Measurable changes in the pattern of electrical activity through the brain by an electroencephalograph (EEG). Comparing EEG studies before and after meditation, there was a dramatic transition from beta waves to alpha waves and delta-theta waves in 14 meditators and non-meditators.
v  An observable increase in brain synchrony (alpha-delta theta waves) between the two hemispheres of the brain after the Meditation on Twin Hearts. There was synchronization of brain waves initially between the same hemisphere and followed by synchrony between the frontal, middle and rear portions of the brain.
v  A decrease in heart rate and respiratory rate after the Meditation on Twin Hearts.
v  A positive relationship of skin conductance with the Meditation was observed in all subjects.
v  An increase in nerve conduction electrical activity through electromyogram (EMG) of the scalene and extensor muscles of the arms.
v  There was a significant increase in plasma melatonin and serum serotonin following Meditation on Twin Hearts in a pilot study of 17 subjects and a follow-up study of 35 subjects.
v  The brain studies using P300 Qeeg analysis and 19 channel EEG recording before, during and after Meditation on Twin Hearts by Jeff Tarrant, PhD and Neuss Raines, PhD showed:
v  Regular meditators of Meditation on Twin Hearts (1,000 hours) were happier, less anxiety, calm and showed coping self-efficacy suggesting more positive outlook and are better equipped to manage difficulties in their lives.
v  All subjects (regular meditators and non-meditators) exhibited a significant decrease in anxiety immediately following Meditation on Twin Hearts.  This makes the meditation an effective tool for anxiety and stress management in subjects with or without previous experience in meditation.
v  Non-meditators and not regular meditators reported a significant increase in happiness immediately following the meditation.  It is likely that the experienced and regular meditators did not show significant changes due to a ceiling effect based on their pre-meditation scores.
v  Regular meditators exhibited an increase in gamma waves at all points of the meditation at the right insula.  The right insula is involved in emotions and tends to increase in loving-kindness meditation.
v  Experienced meditators showed quieting of the mind and relaxing attention focus.
v  SLORETA analyses of gamma activation showed that experienced and regular meditators of the Meditation on Twin Hearts are engaged in the meditation by increasing attention, focus and emotional responsively.  These results as observed in published articles suggest that the Meditation on Twin Hearts is experienced as a focus attention and loving-kindness meditation by experienced meditators.
v  Brain qualitative data during the study indicates that the Meditation on Twin Hearts may be beneficial for all experienced levels, it appears the more experienced meditators engage their brain differently and may consequently experience different benefits.

Spiritual Health is the Key to Wholesomeness

Spiritual Health is the Key to Wholesomeness When we think of health, we tend to think of a state where there is no illness in the body. However, that view is quite one-sided as health is not merely the absence of disease. Being healthy requires more than that; it requires the entire body to function harmoniously and pre-supposes certain wholesomeness. Early to bed and early to rise, might not be enough to make one healthy, wealthy and wise after all! Holistic wellness is attained only when one has spiritual health as well.  Just as our physical body needs food and care, our spiritual body cannot be neglected. The spiritual practices of meditation, purification and character building keep our spiritual body healthy. While the right food and the right exercise benefits our tangible form, our energy body needs spiritual energy to thrive.  When we think of health, we tend to think of a state where there is no illness in the body. Four Techniques to Survive Your day

“FOUR TECHNIQUES TO SURVIVE YOUR DAY” As we well know, modern life is getting ever more packed with work, family, social responsibilities, and more.  One hundred years ago, single-tasking was probably all there was.  We didn’t have a phone ringing just as we were changing lanes on a busy highway or work message alerts going off at home while squeezing shoes on our kids. Working too much and being busy morning till night can take a toll on multiple levels and even amount to a serious health condition down the line.  We say we should therefore re-organize our schedules and decline commitments or additional responsibilities to stay healthy.  We may even go for a career change or move to a town with a slower pace of life. But what if we could accomplish all we are currently committed to–or more–with a genuine smile on our faces and plenty of energy till 10:00 at night? Some of us can’t change our jobs or schedules–or we love what we are doing and don’t wan...
